Do It Yourself

Do It Yourself

  • 2010 DOCOMOMO competition

What BaeDari needs is neither the urban designer nor the developer. It has to have a resident architect.

The site is ‘self generative urban space; this power is created by a motto ‘Do it yourself.’
The historical context supports this. There is a movement to designate the site as preserved area. This will only leaves the site undeveloped and old.

We need to accept that present is also a part of history.
The main road crosses the center, it only deteriorated the area.
The essence is ‘BaeDari’s life’. This is why we need to focus on the present, while considering the future.
